Sunsets

Some sunsets wave good-bye.
God’s signature sprawls across the sky.
I praise Him for the glorious display.

Some sunsets beckon me to explore.
They close the day with a welcoming promise.
I feel like I’m just turning the page in a really good book.
This chapter is not finished.  There is more.

I love sunsets.

Chosen Response

Armed with the knowledge that we find what we are looking for,
I have to modify my search engine.

I have a really bad habit that I really enjoy.
I have to decide if I want to change more than
I want to stay the same.

I like to ridicule bad drivers from the privacy of my car.
This is not an admirable character trait.

Yesterday I tried to “be nice” while I drove around.
I was surrounded by much better drivers.
Funny how that works….

Transformation

I love seeing the countryside transforming into lush vistas.
Each day provides a fresh display of verdant fields.
New growth reminds me of new possibilities and blessings.

I am absorbing the warmth and excitement of the season.

Taking time to take pictures ensures remembrance.
Selecting snapshots to savor later prolongs the enjoyment.
Sharing newfound delights multiplies the pleasure.

I am praising God for a beautiful spring!

Cormorants

I love moments when wonderment collides with confirmation.
When a friend provides the critical piece to the puzzle
it adds layers of enjoyment and thankfulness.

The birds that I enjoy watching at the lake are cormorants.

I love how they disappear under the surface to go fishing.
I’m amazed by how long they can stay under water.

There are innumerable delights to study and explore.
I applaud God’s creativeness and whimsy.

Provisions

A month ago the glade only offered a wider place for deer to travel through.
Now, two whitetails are enjoying a hardy breakfast of fresh vegetation.

Sometimes blessings are hidden until the proper time to be celebrated.

My Heavenly Father offers supplies for all of my needs all year long.
I trust Him to lead me to those green pastures discussed in Psalm 23.
But this time of year, when the fields are obviously growing greener,
I find it easier to notice the abundance of things to be thankful for.

The blue jay is singing loudly this morning.
He might appreciate the warmth, too.

Dreamy Expectations

The damp, cold air is even keeping the wildlife in hiding.
Dreary weather can be gloomy and a bit depressing.
My tendency is to shut down and hide from dull, overcast skies.
I have to remind myself that the weather is not my source of joy.
Its power over me can be limited or even eliminated.

Our attitudes can draw us to soothing situations.
Dreamy expectations can transport us to more pleasant places.

I’ve asked the LORD to bless the day and reveal hidden treasures.
I trust Him to guide me and show me where to explore.
Today will be a fun adventure.  I never travel alone!
