There is a sign announcing the position of a scenic
overlook.
We have driven past it many times. We hardly even notice it now.
We think we already know the area. We just keep driving.
This morning, I’m wondering if we are missing something
spectacular.
There is something about highways that limits my curiosity.
They are the fast track.
They are designed to quickly bypass areas.
Does the first one to arrive win?
Does enjoying the ride even matter?
Why am I in such a hurry to get from point “A” to point “B”?
