There is a silk orchid elegantly displayed on my windowsill.
It requires low maintenance, an occasional dusting is
needed.
It is gorgeous. It is graceful. Yet, it is lifeless.
When it sits among real orchids it is able to blend in with
the group.
People relying on casual, uninformed glances assume
authenticity.
A faux flower finds favor in an illusion of truth.
