Walls

Are we tearing down or building walls?

Fears and worries build up and create blockages.
Blessings pile up behind the obstacles.
We need to destroy the man-made dams.
Cast each anxiety to the LORD.
And release the blessings to flow freely.

My greatest joy is to be saturated with his presence.
His intimacy is my desire.
I do not want to limit our relationship
by building a wall between us.

Harmony

This morning is wrapped in peace and joy.
There is a relaxed stillness
filling every nook and cranny of our home.

Prayers were answered before my first cup of coffee;
because, I started the day with prayer.

I know what the Word says about the power and authority behind prayer.
And that is what I want released into my life every day.

While the LORD sings over us with joy, I’m going to sing with Him.

Consumed

What consumes our time and energy will eventually consume us.
We are nurtured or poisoned by our consumption of thoughts.
We can be consumed by attitudes that foster a healthy, sustainable lifestyle.
Or, we can die of Consumption.

I want to be a careful, informed consumer.
So, I am consumed with prayer.

Nestling

I watched a baby bird being fed.
It was a little ball of feathers with long legs and stubby wings.
While waiting for the next food delivery,
it went through a series of leg stretches and wing flaps.
Maybe it was trying to get back up into the nest.
Maybe it was trying to get further away from home.

But, whatever the case, love watched over them.

Observing the display triggered thoughts of family dynamics
and the way parents keep up with youngsters
that are in or outside of the nest.

Tabled

Something unexpected was put on the table.
It looks a little strange.  It smells a little off.
I need more information before deciding if it is welcome.

I already have enough on my plate.
Some things are there just because they are good for me.
Some things are delectable treats that I savor.
Some things are always left for last
and usually become leftovers to be dealt with later.

Just because something has been placed on the table
it does not mean that I must put it on my plate.

Whether it is a time table or a meal, I will pray and ask the LORD to bless ….

Fallow

A fertile mind yields a healthy crop.

Areas left fallow should not be neglected.
Unwanted thoughts might take root.  Weeds steal nutrients.
Allowing them to foster would lead to more bad seed.

What shall I plant this season?
What do I want to harvest?
