Atypical

There is a tree that appears to be behind schedule.
Spindly branches reach heavenward.
It is just now starting to leaf.

If compared to the others, then it is quite late.
However, it is following a normal growth cycle.

Individuality should be expected and celebrated.
I think it is fun to stand out in a crowd.

Sunbeams

I noticed a strange phenomenon in the sky.
It is blue.  There are no clouds.
A healthy dose of sunshine is possible.

Most of the time, I love clouds. They intrigue me.
They have an impact on the mood of the day.
I can relax by just pausing to track their movements.

I am fascinated by the varied shapes and sizes.
I praise God for His creative way to transport water.
I also praise Him for the pure delight they offer.
I enjoy watching the landscape morph under shifting shadows.

Today I will twirl in the sunshine and dance with my own shadow.

COMFORT

As the Lord
draws you
into his lap,
open your heart
and receive comfort.
Relax.
Let go
of the battle scars
and focus
on his healing touch.
He loves you.
He will carry
your infirmities.
He will not disappoint you.
Soak in his love.
Join his heartbeat….

Casting Lessons

When I cast my anxiety to the LORD,
I have better results if I do not use a rod and reel.
It is not a good idea to go fishing for answers
with prayers used for bait.
I do not need a tackle box.
Throwing a big net out to see what happens
is also a waste of time and energy.

My Lord knows all about fishing and fishermen.
He is not fooled.

Deliberation

I need to create a new filing cabinet in my mind.

I certainly have enough extra space.
Room for storage is not the problem.

I’m gathering little bits of information.
I should store them in a place with easy access.
An uncluttered path enhances the probability of success.
Focused attention maximizes opportunities to learn.

Taking time to study and mull over the facts is critical.
Asking Holy Spirit to train me in this area is essential.

Searching for treasure is only the first step.
I do not want to lose what I find.

Redefined

I thank God for the people bold enough to speak the truth in love.

There are things about ourselves that we do not know.
We all need trusted friends that can share reality with us.

We can celebrate and refine positive qualities that are revealed.
We can learn to mature and grow past things that hinder us.
The right bit of information, lovingly delivered, can bring freedom.

I thank God for the people bold enough to speak the truth in love.
