Mindful

Sometimes my mind snaps shut.
I assume I already understand.

Sometimes my mind clicks open.
More information can act as a key.

Sometimes my mind remains alert.
Watchfulness can be critical.

Sometimes I listen to my heart.
I love those moments.

Deeper

I’m Thankful for the overwhelming sense of peace and contentment
that saturates this season of our lives.
This time of flux is so relaxing that it continues to amaze and thrill me.

My mind tells me that I should be freaked out.
Oh well, my heart and my spirit chooses to rejoice.

The LORD has gotten me to a place of deeper trust.
He is drawing me closer and revealing more of my heart.
He remains faithful.  I’m learning to be more consistent.

FINE WINE

Fine Wine

Thank you, LORD,
for the wine
of your Spirit.
Warmth spreads
and envelopes
every fiber,
relaxing
and freeing
believers.
Your peace
indwells
the surrendered
heart.

Positive Reinforcement

There have been times when I’ve lost focus
and wandered a little off course.
I thank God for getting my attention and bringing me back
to trusting Him and following His lead.

There have been times when I’ve been fearful
and I watched my feet take tentative steps.
I thank God for getting my attention and bringing me back
to trusting Him and following His lead.

There have been times when I’ve remained loyal
and reaped the joy of abundant blessings.
I thank God for His attention and bringing me closer
to trusting Him and following His lead more faithfully.

Yellow-bellied Sapsucker

A pair of Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers visited my favorite tree.
I love their name.  Just saying it makes me smile.
They are truly beautiful.  Seeing them was a blessing.

I know they will be seasonal friends.
I hope to see a lot of them while they are here.

I can relate to wanting to be
where the sap still flows freely during the colder months.
