Embraced

It’s important to go the extra mile to deliver a hug.
Sometimes words are just not enough.
Love has to be squeezed into sore places.
Tenderness is transferable.
And you will gain back even more than you give.

Spread the oil of joy.  Anoint others with a smile.
Share the love you have stored in your heart.

Seeds of hope will quickly sprout and grow to provide shelter.

Amendment

I’m not naturally a morning person.
The possibility of turning into one is quite startling.
However, I feel like I’m battling an inevitable shift.
The last couple of years have been full of warning signs.
Little modifications have been taking root and growing stronger.
I need to relax, adapt, and allow myself to be redefined.

Change is not easy.

Monday mornings have the worst rap sheet.
Innumerable offenses have been recorded.
Lists of bad behavior are quickly generated.

It is time to expunge the record and start fresh.

Awareness

Subtle differences drastically change our trajectory.

Oblivious and obvious almost look the same.

We can allow little bits of lies to cloud reality.
Or we can pray for wisdom and discernment.
Holy Spirit will bring clarity.
Revelation removes illusions and lies.

Personally, I desire to be on the path God has for me.
Obviously, I do not want to wander obliviously through life.

Luxury

There is a single sunflower with one large leaf brightening my space.
It’s displayed in the orange, teardrop shaped vase sitting on my desk.
The jolt of color reminds me to enjoy the summer.  It makes me smile.

Strategically placed indulgences bolster my soul.
An inexpensive investment can yield a high rate of interest.

Even little celebrations of God’s creativeness infuse my day with joy.

Group Dynamics

I’ve been reading about emotional intelligence.
The subject fascinates me.  I want to know more.

I am an avid people watcher.
I enjoy trying to assess little clues
and trying to decipher group dynamics.
It is fun to pray for more unity,
understanding, insight, or joy to be released.

I enjoy praying blessings over strangers
and I covet the prayers of faithful strangers
that may pray blessings over me.

Reminiscence

I just got back from a mini vacation.
I kayaked next to bottlenose dolphins in a saltmarsh estuary.
This time, I paddled in my mind while I started a load of laundry.

Memories of past adventures should be savored.
With a thankful, joyful heart I will relive precious blessings.

I think I will hike in the Rockies while I clean the kitchen.
Mundane tasks do not have to capture all of my attention.
I thank God for time travel.
