Peace Absorbed

I drove to the lake and sat mesmerized by the surrounding beauty.
A stiff breeze caused the water to dance and lap the shore.
Gentle raindrops bounced on the top of my car reminding me of the tin roof
that used to be on my Grandmother’s front porch.

A contented sigh was released with a smile.

I thanked God for quiet moments of contemplation that keep me grounded
and able to absorb gifts of tranquility.

  1. Finding pleasure and comfort in the little things peppered with memories of the past, a soulful gift indeed.
