Enjoy Freedom

There is a young bird trying to get through our window.

For days now, it has been attempting to enter.

The bird was not created to live inside.

This would be a prison, not shelter, for one meant to fly freely.

Obviously something about this place is luring it here.

We have tried to frighten it away.

It must be sore and weary at this point.

With misdirected passion, the bird is relentless.

This puzzling behavior gives me pause.

Am I hitting my head against glass walls that I’m not created to bypass?

Manmade constraints are to be avoided.

Shrinking my world is not a goal of mine.

I prefer flying with freedom to explore areas I’m meant to enjoy.
