I shut the door against the whirlwind
of undisciplined thoughts
and sat myself down.
Impulsiveness will not rule my day.
Restlessness is disturbing.
Unfocused minds clamor for understanding
without taking the time to store the discoveries.
Determination reigns in waywardness.
Prayer bolts the door,
transforms the environment,
and releases God’s power
to rule my day.
Thank you, Father, for wisdom.
