Foxy

I don’t get to see Mr. Fox very often.
He is an elusive fellow.
When I’m blessed with a glimpse of him
I stop and watch very carefully.
His movements are cunningly calculated.

He treads through the forest with his head down.
His steps appear to be deliberate and unhurried.
He purposefully leaves an easy trail to follow.
Then he doubles back out from some tangled shrubbery.
No longer on a straight path, he leaps erratically.
With his head held high he springs quickly towards home.
His scent would be hard to track.

I think I know the general area of his den.
I would not be surprised to be wrong.

  1. Reminds me of my "badger" dog dachshund who reminds me of a"lower" to the ground black fox :)
